HP PAT 2015: Admission From, Exam Date, Pattern, Syllabus

Himachal Pradesh Polytechnic Admission Test (HP PAT) 2015 will be conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Technical Education Board (HPTEB), Dharamshala. This examination is held every year for the admission in three-year polytechnic diploma courses offered by various government and private polytechnics in the state of Himachal Pradesh. There are more than 30 polytechnics running over the state offering the admission over more than 7800 seats.

Eligibility

The aspiring candidates must have passed the matriculation examination with 35% of marks with Science, English and Mathematics. The candidates who are pursuing for the matriculation examination 2015 with above subjects may also eligible to appear this examination provisionally. Their eligibility shall be verified by the Central Admission Selection Committee at the time of counseling.

How to Apply

The aspirants will apply after getting the application form from the Himachal Pradesh Technical Education Board, Dharamshala counter by cash payment of application form fees. The candidates may also get the admission form via post by sending a bank DD along with the Rs. 50/- as postal charges. The candidates may get the application form from other polytechnic centres like state polytechnic of Chamba, Kangda, Hamirpur, Shimla, Kandaghat, Rehru, Sunder Nagar, Ambota and Bankhet.

The candidates would require filling the application form as per the instruction given in the brochure along with the application form and submit it within the prescribed time for submission. The application fee is Rs. 650/- for general & OBC candidates and Rs. 400/- for SC & ST candidates.

Selection Criteria

The admission will be done on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the HP PAT 2015 examination. The selected candidates will be called by the board for counseling. The candidates belonging to OBC, SC and ST categories shall be needed to score the 60 marks which is 10% of the total marks and the candidates belonging to the general categories shall be required to score the 90 marks which is the 15% of the total marks, to make the candidates eligible for the counseling and qualify the test.

Examination Pattern

The HP PAT 2015 will be a single paper consisting of 150 multiple choice type examination. The candidates will be provided the OMR sheet on which they will have to attempt the answer by shading the appropriate circle. The examination is based on the subjects as mathematics, physics, chemistry and English. There will be 100 questions from the math and physics for 400 marks and 50 questions from the chemistry and English for 200 marks. There is the provision of negative marking. For a right answer 4 marks will be awarded and for a wrong answer 1 mark will be deducted as 25% of the right answer.

Syllabus

The entire syllabus of HP PAT 2015 will be consisted of four subjects including mathematics, physics, chemistry and English. You may also get the detailed syllabus from the official website of HPTEB.

Mathematics: The syllabus of mathematics comprises in real number, algebra, trigonometry, coordinate geometry, geometry, Mensuration and statistics.

Chemistry: The syllabus of chemistry comprises in chemical substances, acid; base and salts, chemical reactions, metals and non metals, carbon compound and periodic classification of elements.

Physics: The syllabus of physics comprises in effect of current and magnets, natural phenomena, law of refractions, conservation of natural resources and source of energy.

English: The syllabus of English comprises in use of non-finites, conjunctions, prepositions, clause, tense, modals, sentence formation, reordering and completion.
