COMEDK 2015 Overview

COMEDK (Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka) is an UG and PG state level entrance test conducted by the Association of Medical, Dental and Engineering Colleges known as the Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation Trust (KPCF). There are more than 14 medical colleges, 25 dental colleges and 150 engineering colleges offering more than 20,000 seats for all courses. The COMDEK UGET examination is the gateway for the MBBS, BDS, B.Arch and B.Tech courses. It is an UG level examination and also known as the COMDEK 2015.

COMDEK UGET 2015 Notification

The association of medical, dental and engineering colleges of Karnataka has declared the notification for COMDEK UGET 2015 on 28 October 2014. The aspirants, who wish to appear in this examination should have manage their preparation accordingly. The council has decided to conduct the said test on 10^th May 2015 on Sunday across the Karnataka state. The candidates may also check the COMEDK UGET Application form to know more about the application form dates and how to fill the application form.

The Executive council of COMDEK has released a notification, according to which the exam will going to be held on 10th May, 2015

Available Courses

• MBBS Course with duration of 4 ½ years
• BDS Course with duration of 4 ½ years
• Tech Course with duration of 4 years
• Arch Course with duration of 5 years

Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for the COMEDK UGET 2015, the applicants must ensure the eligibility criteria for the said examination. There are specific eligibility criteria for the medical/dental, engineering and architecture courses.

For MBBS/BDS Courses

To get the admission in medical courses the candidates must have passed the 10+2 or PUC (Pre University Certificate) or equivalent examination from a recognized board with PCB and English as the compulsory subjects with minimum of 50% marks (40% for SC/ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka state). The candidates must have minimum 17 years of age as on or before 31 December 2014. The candidates who have given the examination before and failed to join the college are not permitted to apply or the candidates who have cleared the 10+2 examination before 2012 need not apply.

For B.Tech Courses

To get the admission in engineering courses the candidates must have passed the 10+2 or PUC (Pre University Certificate) or equivalent examination from a recognized board with PCM (chemistry, biotechnology, biology may be optional) and English as the compulsory subjects with minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka state). The candidates having diploma certificate are not eligible to apply for COMEDK UGET 2015.

For B.Arch Courses

To get the admission in architecture courses the candidates must have passed the 10+2 or PUC (Pre University Certificate) or equivalent examination or 10+3 from a recognized board with Mathematics as the compulsory subjects with minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka state). The candidates should have appeared in NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) and scored minimum 80 marks out of 200 marks.

On the date 2nd December 2015 the Association has released a criteria for the eligibility for the COMED-K UGET examination. The students may read the eligibility criteria before filling the form.

COMDEK UGET 2015 Application

The applicants may only apply via online through visit the official website of the COMEDK UGET. The online application form will be available on February 2015 on the official website. The candidate must fill the online application and put the all correct required details. Candidates should enter the details of the bank (listed in Annexure-1 on official website) DD (included banker signature) of Rs. 1200/- (for B.Tech), Rs. 1500/- (for MBBS/BDS) and Rs. 1000/- (for B.Arch) payable at Bangalore. Before submitting, note the application number of 6 digits. The candidates must take the printout of the application form and send it to the address given below along with the mandatory required documents like demand draft, academic certificates, caste certificate, school-leaving certificate, income certificate and minority certificate. Selection Process

The selection will be made on the basis of the merit of ranks scored by the candidates in COMEDK UGET 2015 examination through the counselling and the following factors:

• Availability of seats
• Seat in college and course
• Reservation norms
• Opening and closing ranks
• Merit list ranking

Exam Pattern

The examination will be based on the syllabus of 10+2 or PUC syllabus. There is no negative marking. One mark will be given for each correct answer. The duration of the examination is 3 hours for only engineering courses. The candidates must reach the examination centre before 60 minutes of the commencement of the examination and must take the online TAT to access the examination test.

For engineering and medical courses (both) there will be two papers as physics, math & chemistry with paper-one of 3 hours duration and biology and English in a paper-two of 2 hours duration.

For medical course only there will be two papers as physics & chemistry with paper-one of 2 hours duration and biology and English in a paper-two of 2 hours duration.

COMEDK UGET Admit Card

The candidates can download the admit card/hall ticket of COMEDK UGET some days prior to the examination. The admit card will be available to the candidates from the official websites of the board from 2nd half of April, 2015.
