The rules and regulations prescribed by All India Council for Technical Education, Directorate of Technical Education – Maharashtra State and the University of Mumbai are applicable.

Criteria for Admission in First Year

For Maharashtra State Candidates

The Candidate should be an Indian National.

Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects, and obtained at least 50 % marks (at least 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together; and Obtained score in MHT-CET 2017 (PCM) or JEE(Main) 2017 Paper I conducted by the Competent Authority.

Or

Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50 % marks (at least 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only);

OR

Passed B.Sc. Degree from a Recognised University as defined by UGC. and obtained at least 50 % marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) and passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject.

For All India Candidates and J&K Migrant Candidates

The Candidate should be an Indian National

Eligibility Criteria for BITSAT 2017

• Applicants must have qualified the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized central or state board or its equivalent with Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics and sufficient proficiency in English.
• Candidates must have achieved a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics subjects (if taken Mathematics in BITSAT) or at least 75% aggregate marks in Chemistry, Physics and Biology subjects (if taken Biology in BITSAT) in 12th examination, with scoring a minimum of 60% marks in each of the Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics / Biology subjects.
• Those who are pursuing for 12^th examination in 2017 or who have passed 12th Examination in 2016 are eligible to appear in the online test.
• Candidates who have done 12th or equivalent exam in 2015 or before are not eligible to apply.
• If applicant has taken more than one attempt in 12th examination or its equivalent, only his/her recent percentage/scores is considered, but this attempt has been for the full module of subjects and courses prescribed.

BITSAT Counselling 2017: Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) conducts BITSAT at national level every year for aspirants seeking admission to undergraduate engineering programmes. It is an online entrance exam conducted at BITS campuses located at Hyderabad, Goa and Pilani.

Candidates, who scored the minimum qualifying marks in the BITSAT test, will be eligible to appear in counseling process. During this process, candidates can mark their preferences from the list of associated colleges and institutions. It is a multistage process and require following steps:

Counselling Procedure- Important Highlights

• Counselling session will be held in online mode where candidate have to enter their choice of colleges and courses along with class 12th mark sheets details.
• Candidates are recommended to apply for the same before the deadline as notified by the admission authority.
• Candidates who have either passed or appearing in class 12th exam with Mathematics are only permitted to apply for admission.
• Candidates must check details furnished by them before submission.
• Candidates should send only attested copies of related certificates. This is not necessary to send photocopies.
• At the time of seat allotment candidates will have to pay requisite amount of BITSAT application fee.

BITSAT Exam Pattern 2017

Scholarships and Concessions for First Degree Programmes

For New Admission

Board Toppers

Candidates, who have obtained First, Second and Third Position in class 12^th exam from their respective boards, will be given a merit scholarship of 100%, 75% and 50% respectively in the first semester tuition fee.

Merit in Qualifying Exam

• Tuition Fee Scholarship: Candidates, who have secured at least 90% or above marks in aggregate in the qualifying exam, will be given a merit scholarship of 20% in the first semester tuition fee. In case candidates have obtained minimum 80% marks or above but less than 90% marks in aggregate in the qualifying exam, they will be given a merit scholarship of 15% in the first semester tuition fee.
• Hostel Fee Concession: Candidates, who have secured 90% or above marks in aggregate in the qualifying exam, they will be given 25% concession in the hostel fee.

Tuition Fee Scholarship

Candidates, who have obtained more than 200 marks in BITSAT 2017 (BITSAT 2016), they will be eligible for availing merit scholarship in first year in following ways:

Candidates, who have obtained a CGPA of 9.00 or above at the completion of previous semester, they will be provided a merit scholarship of 20% in the tuition fee of current semester.

Other Special Concessions

• Concessions for GCC/Arab Nationals– Eligible candidates will be given scholarship of 50% to 100% in the tuition fee of normal course duration as per their performance in the qualifying exam.
• For unexpected bereavement of earning member of the family: In this case candidates will be given 100% concession in that particular semester fee.
• For PH category candidates: All PH category candidates will be provided 15% concession in tuition fee throughout the programme if they give satisfactory performance in each semester.
• For Sibling: For a particular family where more than one child enrolled at the same time, they will be eligible to grab 15% concession in the tuition fee.

• Hostel Fee Concession: Candidates, who have secured minimum 80% or above marks in aggregate in the qualifying exam, they will be provided a hostel concession of 25%.
• UAE Nationals will be provided 50% tuition fee scholarship according to their performance in the qualifying exam.
• Candidates, who have obtained a CGPA of 9.00 or above at the completion of previous semester, they will be provided a merit scholarship of 20% in the tuition fee of current semester.
