About course
Geo science or earth science is the science related to the planet Earth. The discipline includes the detailed study of atmosphere, hydrosphere, oceans and biosphere, as well as the solid earth. The discipline teaches the students to use tools from physics, chemistry, biology, chronology and mathematics to build a quantitative understanding of how the Earth system works, and how it evolved to its current state. Remote sensing is the process of acquisition of information about an object or phenomenon without making physical contact with the object. In modern usage, the term generally refers to the use of aerial sensor technologies to detect and classify objects on Earth. It is most useful for government planning like urban and rural planning, land use management, agriculture, forestry, public health, natural resource management, infrastructure development and even the defence sector.
