About course
Engineering Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is a discipline which deals with design, supervision, construction, installing and operating of plants and equipments which produce chemical products and discovering new methodologies of production. The discipline deals with production and development of products like plastics, paints, fuels, fibers, medicines, fertilizers, semi conductors and any other form of chemicals. The sub topics which feature in this branch include physical and life sciences, mathematics and economics. There are two broad groups under this branch. The first group includes design, manufacture and operation of plants and machinery in industrial, chemical and related process. The other group includes development of new or adapted substances for products ranging from food, beverages, pharmaceutical ingredients, cosmetics, cleaners and many other chemical products.
Core subjects – The core subjects of this discipline are as follows:
Chemical process principles
Inorganic and physical chemistry
Organic Chemistry
Fluid and Particle Mechanics
Thermodynamics
Process dynamics and Control
Further studies – After completing the Bachelors in Engineering Chemistry, you can go for Masters Degree, followed by research.
