Automobile Engineers are mainly divided into three streams such as production or design engineering focuses on design components, testing of parts, coordinating tests, and system of a car; Development domain is concerned with performance, durability, and speed of the vehicle; and Manufacturing domain deals with the creation and assembling the whole parts of automobiles. The automotive engineering field is research-intensive and involves direct application of mathematical models and formulas.
Basic Eligibility
UG:To pursue Diploma course in automotive engineering, candidates should be 10+2 pass in science stream with 50% marks in Physics, Math’s and Chemistry subjects from recognized board examination.

Job Prospects
Automotive engineer jobs need constant up gradation of skills to keep pace with technological advancements. Many of Automotive engineering graduates also join defense services of the country. Some even setup own business venture or take up traditional teaching profession.
What is Engineering
Engineering combines the fields of science and maths to solve real world problems that improve the world around us. What really distinguishes an engineer is his ability to implement ideas in a cost effective and practical approach. This ability to take a thought, or abstract idea, and translate it into reality is what separates an engineer from other fields of science and mathematics.

Engineers are problem solvers, organizers, communicators, calculators and designers. They are capable of clearly defining a problem and its relevant constraints (such as time, cost, etc.) and providing a simple solution. From computer chips and satellites to medical devices and renewable energy technologies, engineering makes our modern life possible. A senior engineer will usually perform less technical work (calculations and designs) but instead focus on managing a project or team of engineers. In particular, electrical engineers and computer engineers have a wide range of study options and career paths that let them design, build, and manage those ideas into reality.

Eligibility Criteria
In order to secure admission in Engineering (B.E/B.Tech) the candidates need to have completed the 12th standard. Students who have completed equivalent course too can apply for the course. There is a condition that it should be from a recognized institute. They need to have pursued Mathematics and also science during 12th standard. The Science subjects should include both Physics and Chemistry. Many of the institutes prefer candidates who score at least 60% in these subjects. Also it is a must in some of the institutes that the candidate should have pursued English as a subject. 50% is a must in this subject. The overall score should be at least 50%.
