Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology, Tumkur was established in 2001 with the objective of providing quality technical education.CIT was started by Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology (CIT) runs under the auspices of Sri Channabasaveshwara Swamy Rural Education Society (CRED Society).The institute is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Recognized by Government of Karnataka. The institute is ISO 9001:2008 Certified and Accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).The Institute is located near Gubbi, Tumkur, ~ 80 KM from Bangalore on. National Highway 206. Master of Engineering or Master of Technology or Master of Science in Technology or Master of Engineering degree is a postgraduate program in engineering or technology field.ME/MTech degree program exposes students to a wide range of courses, combined with specialized research which culminates in a thesis. Such a combination gives students the breadth and depth necessary for pursuing careers in academics as well as industry.The residence requirements for ME/MTech program is four semesters. However, it is possible to get permission to spend one semester elsewhere.
