About Anjamma Agi Reddy College of Engineering for Women(AARCEW), Hyderabad:-
The college was started in 2010 by the Mahaveer Education Society. The society has more than a decade’s experience in managing another college, the Mahaveer Institute of Science & Technology, which is co-educational. It decided to start a special college for women in 2010 and named it after Anjamma and Agi Reddy, the social service dedicated parents of chairman Sudarshan Reddy and secretary Surender Reddy of the Mahaveeer Education Society.The college is administered by Dr. Palanki Balakrishna, a nuclear fuel scientist and educationist, with the degrees B.Tech (Honours), M.Tech and Ph.D., all from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Before assuming charge at the new college, he was principal of Bhoj Reddy Engineering College for Women, Marconi Institute of Technology, Vignan Institute of Technology and Science and was acting principal of Nalla Malla Reddy Engineering College. He received the NMD award from the Ministry of Steel in 1995 and Engineer of the Year award 1992 from the Institution of Engineers (India) and the Government of Andhra Pradesh. He has over 60 research publications and guest-lectured at U.S. universities. He presented papers and chaired technical session at Sintering 87 in Tokyo and IAEA conference at Dimtrovgrad in 1995. He presented papers at Simtech 90 held at Montecatini Terme, Italy in 1990.
