Raja College of Engineering and Technology, Madurai was established by the Arun Ramkumar Educational Trust founded by PMJF.Lion G. Nagarajan. The College started functioning during the academic year 1995-96 with the approval of All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and Government of Tamilnadu. It is affiliated to Anna University.The College has obtained ISO 9000-2001 Certification in the year 2005. The college offers Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Engineering and also offers Master of Business Administration and Master of Computer Application courses.The mission of the college is to offer quality education in Engineering, Technology and Management to the youth, particularly to those underprivileged, living in rural areas with focus on student’s personality development, their competence at global level, R&D efforts and faculty development. Master of Engineering or Master of Technology or Master of Science in Technology or Master of Engineering degree is a postgraduate program in engineering or technology field.ME/MTech degree program exposes students to a wide range of courses, combined with specialized research which culminates in a thesis. Such a combination gives students the breadth and depth necessary for pursuing careers in academics as well as industry.The residence requirements for ME/MTech program is four semesters. However, it is possible to get permission to spend one semester elsewhere.
