Difference Between B.Tech. and B.E. ?

 What is the difference between B.Tech. and B.E.
B.Tech. = Bachelor of Technology
B.E. = Bachelor of Engineering
I had the same question when I was a 12th class student. I know most of you don’t know the difference and never ever really cared to search it on net. Ok so here goes the difference:
B.Tech. is more of a practical based program while B.E. emphasizes on theoretical details. In India no one really cares whether you are B.Tech. or B.E. - because in either case you are equally unaware of what you are doing (practicals) or studying (theory). Well that was a joke or was it really?
